Importing Your USA Swimming Meet History
Link your USA Swimming member ID once, and every official meet time you've ever swum pulls in automatically. Here's how it works and what to expect.
For: All swimmers, Parents of USA-registered swimmers
Why this matters
SWIMS is USA Swimming's official results database. Every time you swim a sanctioned meet, the result lands in SWIMS within a few days. When you link your BTB account to SWIMS, your complete career — every meet, every time, every split, going back as far as USA Swimming has records for you — appears on your profile without any manual typing.
Step-by-step
- 1
Find your USA Swimming member ID
Your member ID is a 14-character code that USA Swimming assigned you when you first registered. You can find it on any USA Swimming membership card, your registration confirmation email, or by logging into the USA Swimming website. If you've never registered with USA Swimming, you don't have one — and you don't need one to use Beyond the Blocks.
- 2
Open your profile settings
Tap Settings in the bottom nav, then Profile. Scroll down to the section labeled 'USA Swimming'.
- 3
Enter your member ID
Type or paste your 14-character USA Swimming ID into the box and tap Save. Double-check the characters — Stripe-style codes with the letter O vs. the number 0 are easy to mis-type.
You'll know it worked when
The field shows a small green checkmark next to your ID after it saves.
- 4
Wait for the sync
The sync is automatic but takes a few minutes the first time. Beyond the Blocks reaches out to SWIMS, pulls every meet result tied to your ID, and lands them on your profile. During the initial sync, you'll see a progress indicator on your home screen.
You'll know it worked when
Your Progress tab shows historical meets you've swum. Personal bests populate automatically.
- 5
Check that everything imported correctly
Open the Progress tab and scroll through your meet history. Every meet you've swum should be there. Spot-check a few times against your records. If something's missing or wrong, the issue is almost always at the USA Swimming end (your LSC hasn't uploaded the meet yet, or your registration wasn't tied to that meet). SWIMS updates take 1–2 weeks after a meet ends.
