Getting Started as a Parent
Your swimmer invited you to Beyond the Blocks. Here's everything you need to stay connected — meet results, schedules, billing, and more.
Beyond the Blocks is where you follow your swimmer's meet results, pay club dues, approve meet entries, and watch the rest of the swim family grow up in the sport too.
Your first 10 minutes
Follow these steps in order. You can pause and come back anytime.

Open the invite email
Your swimmer (or their coach) sent you a family invite. Look for an email from team@beyondtheblocks.io — the subject line usually includes your swimmer's name. Can't find it? Check your spam folder, or ask your swimmer to resend it from their Settings → Family page.
You'll know it worked when
You see the email and there's a blue button inviting you to connect.

Tap the blue button
This opens Beyond the Blocks in your browser. There's nothing to download — the app works on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Create your free parent account
Your email is already filled in. Just pick a password you can remember. Parent accounts are always free.
You'll know it worked when
You land on your parent dashboard and see your swimmer's name at the top of the page.

Confirm you're connected to your swimmer
On your dashboard, you should see their photo or initials at the top. Scroll down to see their meet schedule, recent results, and attendance. If you have more than one swimmer, add each one from Settings → Family.

Turn on notifications
Go to Settings → Notifications. Turn on what you want to know about: meet results, personal bests, attendance, meet-entry approval requests, and billing reminders. You can do email only, push only, or both.
You'll know it worked when
At least one notification type has a blue toggle switched on.
Key features, explained
Your parent dashboard
This is the main screen when you log in. It shows your swimmer's upcoming meet, most recent result, attendance for the week, and any action items that need your attention (like meet-entry approval or an open invoice). Everything is one tap away.
Approving meet entries
When your coach enters your swimmer into a meet, you get a push notification and email. Open the meet-entry card on your dashboard, review the events the coach picked, and approve or decline before the entry deadline. No more surprise scratches or event changes.
See how meet entries workPaying dues and meet fees
If your club uses Beyond the Blocks for billing, your invoices show up on the Billing tab. Monthly dues get charged automatically on the day your club picks. Meet fees get charged when your coach declares entries. You can pay online in a few taps, and every payment sends you an email receipt.
How club billing worksParent Watch
You can follow any other swimmer — a rival, a cousin, a family friend on another team. Their meet results show up next to your own athlete's, with side-by-side charts. Great for tracking who's moving up and who to beat next season.
Following without an account
Grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends — they don't need an account. Your swimmer has a public profile link that you can text or email to anyone. They see meet results and bests without signing up.
