How-to guide

Qualifying standards on your chart

The Time Progression chart on your Me page can overlay USA Swimming's B through AAAA motivational cuts for your age group, or the next one up.

About 2 minutes

For swimmers, parents, coaches

Why this matters

Standards give a swim a frame. Seeing your line cross AA, and how far AAA is, says more than a number on its own.

Step by step

  1. 01

Open Me and scroll to Time Progression

The chart opens on the event and course you've raced most. Change either with the dropdown and the course buttons. It needs two results in an event to draw.

  2. 02

    Turn on Qualifying Standards

Tick the box. Six chips appear with the cut times: B, BB, A, AA, AAA, AAAA. AA and AAA are drawn by default; tap a chip to add or remove a line.

  3. 03

Look ahead to the next age group

The age group dropdown defaults to yours, marked 'now'. If your birthday falls mid-season, pick the next group to see the cuts you'll be chasing after it. It resets to your real group next time you open the page.

  4. 04

    Where the cuts come from

The USA Swimming 2025 to 2028 Age Group Motivational Time Standards, all three courses, 10 and under through 17 to 18, girls and boys. We load the next quad when it's published.
