How-to guide

Reading your predictions

The swimmer bar on your Meets tab and home page: what the ends mean, why the swimmer sits where it does, and what the confidence line is actually telling you.

Why this matters

A prediction is only useful if you know what it's made of. Every bar comes with its reasoning written underneath, and the confidence wording is about data, never about you.

Step by step

  1. 01

Pick your events for a meet

On Meets, open the upcoming meet and tap 'Pick my events'. Predictions appear for every event you have data in.

  2. 02

Read the bar left to right

Left end: your current best. Right end: your goal. The swimmer sits where the projection lands. If the swimmer is past the goal, the note says so, and it's time to aim higher.

  3. 03

    Read the line underneath

It says what the number rests on: how many meet swims and how many timed practice reps in the last four weeks, your practice pace and how much faster you race than you train, your trend per month, and what meet-day rest is worth.

  4. 04

    Read the confidence honestly

Solid, Fair, or Rough estimate describes how much data there is. Rough means there aren't many timed reps or meet swims in that event yet. It says nothing about whether you can hit your goal. Log more reps in that event and the estimate tightens.

  5. 05

Set a goal if there isn't one

A bar with no goal shows 'Set a goal'. Tap it and the goal form opens with the event and course already chosen.

    You'll know it worked when

The right end of the bar shows your goal time.
